Spain can be wonderful… but it can be demanding from a formal perspective.
Documents, taxes, insurance, car insurance, and office visits can be overwhelming, especially at first.
Fortunately, most of these matters can now be handled from your phone .
No rushing to and from offices, no waiting in lines, and no tons of paperwork.
If you live in Spain, are in the process of moving there, or are planning to stay here for a while, these 5 apps are really worth having .
Cl@ve – the digital key to Spain
Download: Cl@ve
We're starting with the absolute basics.
Cl@ve is the gateway to most official matters .
Thanks to Cl@ve:
- you log in to offices with one access,
- you confirm your identity online,
- you submit applications, declarations and documents without personal visits.
Without Cl@ve enabled, many apps simply won't work .
If there's one thing you should do right off the bat, this is it.
Agencia Tributaria – taxes under control
Download: Agencia Tributaria
Yes, taxes. But don't worry – this app really helps.
In practice, it enables:
- filing tax returns ( rent ),
- preview of settlements from previous years,
- paying taxes or paying them in installments,
- arranging office visits, if necessary.
If you work in Spain, run a business or own a property here, this application is mandatory .
Import@ss – stress-free insurance and premiums
Download: Import@ss
One of the most underrated, yet most useful apps.
Import@ss allows you to:
- check insurance status,
- view your contribution history,
- change the contribution basis (important for autónomo),
- update contact details.
Instead of guessing "if everything is correct" - you have it in black and white .
Mi DGT – everything about the car
Download: Mi DGT
If you have a car in Spain – this app will quickly become your everyday tool.
DGT gives me:
- digital driving license (valid in Spain),
- access to vehicle data,
- information about insurance and inspections,
- ability to pay fines online.
A small thing, but it can save a lot of time and nerves.
Mi Carpeta Ciudadana – administration in one place
Download: My Carpeta Ciudadana
It's a kind of "citizen's file" in a digital version.
Thanks to her:
- you can check your data in public systems,
- you will see liabilities and payments,
- you will have insight into various official matters in one place.
It won't do everything for you, but it gives you order and control – and that can be worth its weight in gold in Spain.
Why do we recommend these apps?
Because these are not theoretical tools, but things that we use ourselves and which in reality:
- shorten contact with offices,
- they organize administrative matters,
- allow you to manage life in Spain calmly.
Spain can be very friendly, you just need to know how to cooperate with it . :)
If you're new here or planning to move, save this article – it will be really useful!
